The only good thing about the puma is the engine n body style rest is absolutely garbage 🗑️ ha ha

My advice to potential buyer's is do. A gov ,UK mot history check ....for underside body rot boxes just walk away worst car ford ever produced especially seat belt mounting areas they are just rot boxes all day long never owned one wouldn't want one ..... absolutely the worst all the puma is a rebodied ford ka laughimg out loud lol 😂😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 a big thumbs down for this rust bucket

This is beautiful. I previously owned an 88' MR2 left hand drive in white with the t-top, a/c and power everything, but my gray Toyota alloy wheels were the exact same as my 87' Corolla FX16 GT-S. I upgraded the exterior by having the mirrors painted white, purchasing the 89' supercharged MR2 smooth door handles (having them painted white) and purchasing the 89' MR2 supercharged rear spoiler with the LEDs (having it painted white with the factory silver stripe), because I'm my opinion, they looked better than the black door handles and the single light under the rear spoiler when I was single. I really enjoyed it the time I had it. Everything changed after I married my wife and had daughters. I went from driving awesome 3 pedal 5 speed manual transmission sports cars to driving a 2 pedal 8 passenger minivan. I did not see that coming.

They still don't seem to be greatly loved, other than the Racing model, which is considerably more costly.

I think the Puma still looks quite modern, the rear light design was very futuristic at the time

25/2 22. A later built model indicated by the HL Brake Light & Reg' No. Run out models had 1.6 engines. What were these like? Easier insurance? Where else is all this rust spoken about? Head lamps tend to fog with age? Anyone know what the 6 disc CD player option spec was please? Also, what are the best tyres to fit at replacement time?

Great guide! I would just avoid flared MK2s altogether coz those things seem to trap water and just ruin the cars. Small bumper cars with no flares if I had a choice!

You may not see this now but I have recently just picked up the 1.6 Puma and it’s in great condition although when I start it I have the exact same whistling noise as when you started this one. I was thinking it’s a loose belt in mine and was wondering if you ever had it looked at and what it was as I’ve not had chance to get mine in the garage yet!

If your car has felt on wheel arch, cut it back, as it traps water and crud. We had a 16v version for 10 years and it was a brilliant car. It seemed to get faster as it aged, the engines loosen up a bit. Ours had well over 100k when we sold it. The new guy wrote it off!

Hey you guys might not see this but I just wanted to ask what kind of wheels does that car have

I was a after a weekend toy. Something I could work on but not a rotten one. Thought I’ll have a look for a white T bar model. Around 6 - 8 years ago could pick one for £500-1k.. now 5k for a rotten one, and 10k for a good one. 😂 no way are they worth that. So that was the end of that..

I sold mine in 1983 for £50, not a smart move in retrospect! 😂

Also rear Iner sills and of course rear bushes cloudy headlights and rear lights Al in all most have now succumbed to tin rot

Hi Ive just had a MR2 Mk1 inspected by a classic car company before purchase. All is good and he was happy with the vehicle but he did say that it idles at 1200 revs. Is this common? Many thanks.

Im almost getting my drivers license and I want to bug one as soon as I can! Its such a lovely car and has a decently powerful engine, given the fact it doesnt weight much. I just need to find a body kit, wheels and suspension which I am already looking at and then I get my dream cheap car ❤
